English: Clock Tower, Bridge Street, Salisbury This Victorian tower is a loving memorial. A Salisbury doctor, John Roberts, paid for it in 1892 in memory of his wife, Arabella. The tower was built on the site long occupied by the city gaol. There was a prison here by 1421. Georgian masonry from the last prison is incorporated in the base of the tower.
